Kathleen Harward is a retired lawyer that took a leap of faith to pursue her dream of becoming a children’s book author. She approached CJDesign unsure of how to achieve this dream, and together we created a reality. It began with branding, continued into book layout design, and we continue our growth as an e-commerce based children’s book company.

Brandy Wilbur Pie was a chocolate lab with a life dedicated to others. The stories that Brandy created throughout her life was the inspiration behind the branding, and many of the books. Our branding and logo design needed to be warm, friendly, and keep the memory of Brandy alive for years to come. The versatility of the elements carries the branding through all mediums, from websites to book covers.

Brandy, The Brand
Brandy was a true Colorado labrador. She spent countless hours of her life in the Rocky Mountains, often as the trail guide for Kathy and her family. Brandy used to be hiking in front, and look back every few seconds to make sure everyone was still trekking along.
ROCKY MOUNTAINS x BRANDY PIE
Rough Linework… Minimalist Logo
The team, as well as the client, spent many conversations about the linework style for this logo. We tried smooth, round, geometric, and finally settled on a subtle ‘mountainous’ style for the branding. We contrasted the rough edges on the logomark with a smooth script, and solid sans-serif for garnish.

As ChristopherJewellDesign’s premiere work on a published children’s book, we took pride in an extremely high attention to detail on every page. From cover to cover, The Shared Dog was a blast of a project that has secured its’ spot in the CJD Hall of Fame.
