Denver’s own Chef Jenica has been cooking across the world before she landed back in Colorado. From priceless training in Italy, to big-name clients in Los Angeles, Chef Jenica’s arrival as a Personal Chef serving in Denver required a brand to match her quality, personality, and style.
Chef Jenica’s iconic sterling silver chef’s knife that hangs around her neck everyday was absolute natural. This unique necklace was the perfect reason to take a look at some ‘knife-inspired’ logo concepts. We must have just had a stroke of luck that the blade creates a ‘C’, and the handle a ‘J.’
“IT’S NEVER YOUR FIRST IDEA”
Our First Idea
Chef Jenica’s branding was about her company, but we initially agreed this brand is more about the individual and the person she is. Her iconic chef’s knife necklace was our first moment of inspiration for her logo design.
NO STONE UNTURNED
It’s Never That Easy
We took a long look at ‘knife-inspired’ logo concepts, and found some options we liked. However, at CJD we know it’s never that easy. We examined hundreds of other potential concepts, and throughout the process… our first idea survived.
BRINGING BACK THE PERSONALITY
Chef Jenica wanted playful, yet composed typography for her wordmark. Our combination of script and serif typefaces is unique, but so is Chef Jenica. The stand alone logomark can be sized to any scale, and the typography sits strongly on it’s own, while achieving our client’s goals.
HOW LONG DOES A LOGO LAST?
Timeless Logo & Brand Identity
Some logos need to be rebranded within 3 to 5 years. Some logos will stay the same throughout company history. We consider a “timeless” logo to be one that is easily touched up every few years to keep up with changes in style. Not changed, just adjusted. Chef Jenica’s logo design is one that will last a lifetime, even if we revisit when a few years have passed.
TALK ABOUT VERSATILITY
Short Logo, Tall Logo, Big Logo, Small Logo
Chef Jenica’s logo and brand identity maintains a minimalist style, which allows us to scale the logo at any size and still maximize branding efforts.
